1. Mont-Orford National Park (Orford)

Protected territory and life-size experiences

Hiking is undoubtedly the best way to discover Parc national du Mont-Orford. This is an opportunity to access many viewpoints that are said to be among the most spectacular in the Eastern Townships region. The park is home, in particular, to white-tailed deer and great blue herons, which can be observed in their natural habitat. It also has a great diversity of amphibian and reptile species. On the outskirts of the two beaches, several activities are on the program for the pleasure of holidaymakers. In the fall, the sugar maples provide a colorful spectacle for hikers. Come winter, the park becomes a must for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing enthusiasts.

2. Ski Bromont (Bromont)

Bromont, montagne d'experiences is an alpine ski resort located in Bromont, Quebec, on the slopes of Mont Brome, Mont Spruce and Pic du Chevreuil. As of the 2009–2010 season, it was North America's largest center for enlightened alpine skiing. It is one of four main ski resorts in the Eastern Townships east of Montreal, the other three being Ski Mont Sutton, Ski Mont Orford and Owl's Head. It is about 45 minutes from Montreal.

Bromont is on the edge of the snow belt or created by the Appalachians south of the St. Lawrence Valley. Mont Brome is 2000 feet high and the station has a drop of 1300 feet. The station has 9 chairlifts.

3. Immersion (Waterloo)

HISTORICAL MONUMENTS

6. Louis-S.-St-Laurent National Historic Site (Compton)

Twenty kilometers from Sherbrooke, the Louis-S.-St-Laurent National Historic Site commemorates the life and work of this former Prime Minister. Discover his native environment and rural life at the turn of the 20th century. Visit the general store of the father of Louis-S. St-Laurent, Jean-Baptiste-Moïse, and experience the atmosphere of the rural environment of the time. On the counters and shelves of origin, reproductions of articles evoke the daily life of the villagers at the turn of the century. Conversations around the stove, boned corsets, chamber pots and washboards are just some of the elements that contribute to creating a most authentic atmosphere.

7. Saint-Patrice Church (Magog)

The Saint-Patrice church is one of the oldest in the diocese of Sherbrooke. It was in 1893 and 1894 that the current church was built, according to the plans and specifications of the architect Jean-Baptiste Verret of Sherbrooke. The canonical erection took place on December 16, 1894. The magnificent church clad in stone, in the neo-Gothic style, is distinguished, among other things, by its rose window, the steep slope of the roof, the ogival openings, its imposing metal cornice. The Casavant organ, Opus 132 purchased in 1901, was restored in 1980 by Guilbault-Thérien and is still used regularly in celebrations.

The parish of Saint-Patrice is the mother parish from which all the neighboring parishes have been detached. It retains an extensive territory, both in the city of Magog, on the shores of Lake Memphremagog and in the township of Orford.

8. Poudrière de Windsor Historical Park

Discover the site of the oldest black powder manufacturing plant in Quebec. Where nature lets glimpse vestiges of the past. Founded in 1864, in the wake of the Civil War, the Windsor Powder Magazine produced gunpowder, an essential component of explosives. Until 1922, the city of Windsor lived to the rhythm of this dangerous industry.

The Parc historique de la Poudrière was created in 1993 to highlight the history of the site, the remains and the trails. Moreover, since 2005, the site has been listed in the cultural heritage register of Quebec. This property is listed as a heritage site. The protection applies to the exterior envelope of the building, to the remains and to the land.
